Ability360 offers independent living classes

Ability360 offers monthly in person classes for individuals with disabilities to learn and practice independent living skills from 10 a.m. to noon on the third Tuesday of each month. The free classes are also available online via Zoom. The class schedule through June is available now.

February 21st
Transportation
Getting around our large city can be challenging! Do you know just how many accessible transportation options are available to you? Join us for a day of learning about transportation at Ability360 in the conference room. We will have a guest presenter from Valley Metro, Dolores Nolan. In person from 10 a.m. to noon and Zoom 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

March 21st
Budgeting & Money Management
Living on a fixed income often means every penny counts. This month’s Independent Living Skills Class will be about budgeting and money management. Join us in the Ability360 conference room to learn skills and tips, review your spending habits, and discuss your money goals. In person from 10 a.m. to noon and Zoom TBD.

April 18th
Social Skills & Etiquette
In this modern age, socialization is expressed through multiple avenues from in-person conversations, social media, and other virtual means. This month’s class will take place in Classroom B at Ability360 and center on learning social cues, practicing effective social skills, and having discussions about challenges, questions, and advice to share with others. In person from 10 a.m. to noon and Zoom TBD.

May 16th
Self-care & Mental Health
May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, which raises awareness of people's emotional, physical, and mental well-being. This month’s class will take place in Ability360’s Conference room and look into ways to practice self-care and be mindful of our mental health. Join us to learn more about mental health awareness. In person from 10 a.m. to noon and Zoom TBD.

June 20th
Healthy Relationships & Boundaries
Relationships are all around us, from family, friends, partners, service providers, to coworkers. This month’s class will focus on identifying the importance in setting boundaries and discussion about what represents a healthy relationship. We welcome you to join us in Ability360’s conference room to learn more about ways to foster and maintain healthy relationships vs. unhealthy relationships. In person from 10 a.m. to noon and zoom TBD.
