Glendale’s Official Firework Display Offers Live Music, Dining Deals and More

Westgate Entertainment District is celebrating Independence Day with a dazzling firework display and community event on July 4 from 5-9 p.m.

Firework Fest, powered by Sanderson Ford and Desert Diamond Casino West Valley, is celebrating its 11th year at Westgate and will feature free face painting, balloon twisting, classically restored fire trucks with a kiddo-approved splash zone, an open-air beer garden with live music, games and more. This year’s special musical guests will be The Fighter Country Talent Squad and Hillbilly Deluxe.

The firework display will be launching from a new location this year from the southeast, making the district a perfect place to post up for incredible views of the display.

Jessica Kubicki, the director of marketing for YAM Properties, provided pro-tips for those who are attending Firework Fest for the first time.

“Firework Fest is the best place to celebrate the 4th because it will have fun activities that all family members are sure to enjoy,” said Kubicki. “At Fountain Park, kids will have a chance to cool off in the splash pad and interactive water zone and families will enjoy beats by a live DJ, dancing, games and prizes. In WaterDance Plaza, guests can celebrate in an open-air, beer garden with live music from talented local acts, surrounded by a myriad of delicious restaurants. We highly recommend making a reservation at one of our eateries, or arriving early to snag a seat, as you await our firework spectacular at 9 p.m.”

Eventgoers can also picnic within the district with grab and go dinner deals from these participating eateries before the fireworks show.

o $1 | Bottled water

· Johnny Rockets: $11.50 | Hamburger or cheeseburger with chips and a choice of soda or bottled water

· LumberjAxes Axe Throwing Bar: $10 | Dino’s Deep Dish pizza slice (cheese or pepperoni) and a “s’mores” dessert panini

· Mariscos El Flay: $15 | Shrimp ceviche or fish ceviche with choice of soda or bottled water

· PopStroke: $12 | Smash Burger and fries with a fountain soda

· Shane’s Rib Shack: $6 | 6-piece boneless wings, chips and a bottle of water

This event is free to attend. There will also be free parking at all open lots in the district. Parking will be limited at Westgate and carpooling is highly recommended.
