Daisy Ridley became a global name when she was cast in 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Long before she took the role of Rey fighting battles against the dark side across space, the 27-year-old was fighting her own battle, struggling with endometriosis and the impact of the illness on her mental health.

According to the Endometriosis Foundation of America, at least 200 million women worldwide have endometriosis and the condition is the leading cause of hysterectomies in women aged 30-34. Endometriosis can cause abnormal and/or painful periods, bowel and urinary disorders, infertility, fatigue and personality changes.
