After a few years toiling away in television and in film, British-American actress Anya Taylor-Joy seemingly catapulted into the stratosphere of superstardom with her blockbuster turn as the stylish-yet-troubled chess genius, Beth Harmon in “The Queen’s Gambit” in 2020.

She will next be starring in “The Northman” with Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe and Ethan Hawke. Taylor-Joy holds her own and portrays an otherworldly, yet resilient character, Olga of the Birch Forest. “The Northman” is a sweeping epic film that follows a young Viking prince as he works tirelessly to avenge the murder of his father.
