Amanda Seyfried has been part of the world of acting for nearly 20 years, getting her start with recurring roles on soap operas before making her film debut in 2004 with her role in “Mean Girls.” Roles were not the only thing occupying Seyfried’s time, according to an article in Allure; the actress was also working on improving and maintaining her mental health.

Seyfried is diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), described by the National Institute of Mental Health as a common, chronic, and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable recurring thoughts (obsessions) and/or behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.
