The annual Laveen BBQ brings together friends, neighbors and families to Cesar Chavez Park to experience a variety of food, games, music and small business products at an array of booths. The event is free for the public to attend, with food and goods available for purchase.

Hundreds of community volunteers, local leaders and businesses pitch in as volunteers to make the barbecue a success. Money raised from the event benefits the Laveen Community Council, which supports local youth groups, nonprofit organizations and scholarships for high school seniors.
